Thomas Torrance and Intelligent Design |

Thomas Torrance, who recently passed away, has been described as one of the leading theologians of the second half of the twentieth century according to his obituary in The Times. [1] Torrance also accepted the reality of the creation account, thus rejecting reductionism and naturalistic accounts of origins in science.

The New York Times Editorial [1] falls back on empty rhetoric and provides a rather confused argument in seeking to defend Darwinism in the education system. Stating in the headline for instance that ‘creationism’ is a ‘con,’ and that ‘creationists tend to struggle with reality’ in the first sentence, but then they fail to present a positive case for Darwinism.

Darwinists go for the hard sell in run up to Darwin200 Celebrations |

The Independent is reporting on the plans for Darwin200, a series of events to mark the 200th anniversary of Darwin’s birth, and the 150th anniversary of Darwin’s publication, Origins of Species. It would seem the Darwinists think all that is needed is a better sales strategy to get people to believe in Darwinism.

Dispatches, ‘In God’s Name’ and liberal bullying |

Dispatches, on Channel 4 last night, produced a programme that sought to characterise Christians as extreme fundamentalists. The approach of the presenter David Modell can only be described as patronising, or even prejudiced, and I was left with the impression that he was trying to bully and trap Andrea Minichiello Williams into giving him comments that he wanted, and to generate negative sentiment against Christians.
